It was a typical June day on Lake Murray, the weather partly cloudy with a chance of storms rolling in later. As I pulled up to the meeting spot at the lake, I saw Logan and their crew waiting eagerly to get out on the water. We were running the Lake Murray Striper Fishing (Afternoon Trips) with Hooked Up On Striper Guide Service, and the summer months are prime time for targeting these hard-fighting gamefish.

We launched the boat and headed out, rigging up our trolling and light tackle setups. The lake was in good shape, and we started working the main channel edges, looking for baitfish that would lead us to the stripers. It took a bit of searching, but eventually, we started marking fish on the electronics. We slowly worked through the area, carefully working our lures and live baits to entice some strikes. 

Though we didn't manage to land any big prizes, we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company. We had a great day of Striped Bass fishing out on Lake Murray with Lyle and their crew. June is a prime time to target these hard-fighting gamefish on the lake, as the warming waters get them feeding aggressively. We met up at the lake early, before the sun was fully up, and wasted no time getting the lines in the water.

We started the day trolling, covering as much water as we could to locate the fish. It wasn't long before one of the rods bent over hard—Lyle was into a nice Striped Bass! That fish put up an amazing fight, stripping drag and making multiple strong runs before we finally got it into the boat. That set the tone for the rest of the trip, as we continued to hook up with more Stripers throughout the day, switching between trolling and light tackle presentations to stay on the fish.

The conditions couldn't have been better—partly cloudy skies, calm winds, and great water clarity made for an ideal day on the lake. In between landing fish, we took in the beautiful Lake Murray scenery and enjoyed the company. There's nothing quite like the thrill of feeling that big Striper hit the line and then watching it come up boiling on the surface. We had a blast putting our skills to the test and adding some quality fish to the cooler.

Notes: Largemouth Bass are active around structures and vegetation. Look for them near cover in the shallows during the early morning and move to deeper waters as the day progresses.
Crappie:

Best Spots: Brush piles, docks, and bridge pilings
Baits: Minnows and small jigs
Notes: Crappie are biting well around brush piles and docks. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to target them.

Just had an incredible day on the water chasing striped bass! The thrill of the fight, the beauty of the catch, and the camaraderie with fellow anglers made it a striped bass fishing experience to remember!

It's been one heck of a week with some weather conditions. We fished some slick waters,  blue bird sky's,  and a cold front.  Fished Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday with 36 keepers coming over the rails. Today Ryan got 2 personal best catches the first was a 30 1/2" 10 # and the 2nd was a 33" 17# striper which is headed to hook and hoof taxidermist. We have some weekdays left open as well as this Saturday and Sunday. We are also booking crappie trips.  March and April are filling up with weekends going quickly. The Striper fishing on Lake Murray is still excellent during the colder months. The fishing has been consistent and we have been on some really good stripers here. We are catching stripers at a few different depths using different techniques.
