Hooked on Striper: Thrilling Lake Murray Fishing Adventure

We had a great day of Striped Bass fishing out on Lake Murray with Lyle and their crew. June is a prime time to target these hard-fighting gamefish on the lake, as the warming waters get them feeding aggressively. We met up at the lake early, before the sun was fully up, and wasted no time getting the lines in the water.

We started the day trolling, covering as much water as we could to locate the fish. It wasn't long before one of the rods bent over hard—Lyle was into a nice Striped Bass! That fish put up an amazing fight, stripping drag and making multiple strong runs before we finally got it into the boat. That set the tone for the rest of the trip, as we continued to hook up with more Stripers throughout the day, switching between trolling and light tackle presentations to stay on the fish.

The conditions couldn't have been better—partly cloudy skies, calm winds, and great water clarity made for an ideal day on the lake. In between landing fish, we took in the beautiful Lake Murray scenery and enjoyed the company. There's nothing quite like the thrill of feeling that big Striper hit the line and then watching it come up boiling on the surface. We had a blast putting our skills to the test and adding some quality fish to the cooler.
